The bandstands or coretos as we call them in Portuguese, Appeared in the country, at the end of the 18th century. Nowadays you can find one in each city or village. The coretos are part of the most traditional Portuguese festivals and were the place where orchestras and philharmonic bands presented their musical concerts.
