Célia macedo ceramics
Célia Macedo: Architect turned Passionate Ceramist. With skilled hands and a heart for heritage, she crafts exquisite handmade ceramics in Montemor-o-Novo, blending tradition with contemporary flair.
Célia Macedo is a creative, passionate about ceramics. She decided to change her life close to 40, leaving behind 12 years spent outside Portugal, in England, where she was an architect, researcher, university teacher and joined Architectures Sans Frontières, on at least 3 continents.
Today, she has reinvented herself as a professional in the Portuguese crafts sector. Now a ceramist, certified artisan, she carries in her hands, and in her
heart, the heritage of a craft with many hundreds of years of existence in Portugal - and around the world!
Celia’s ceramic pieces are produced entirely by hand, in Montemor-o-Novo, in the heart of Alentejo.
Célia Macedo Ceramics® combines tradition and modernity in a single gesture, using traditional techniques and methods, adapted to contemporary uses.
Her mission is to produce high quality handmade ceramic pieces made in Portugal, thus seeking to contribute positively towards the strengthening of an economy that favors national and sustainable production.
