Before the first use, we recommend washing all pieces by hand in hot soapy water. Thoroughly rinse them and allow them to air dry for optimal cleanliness.

To preserve the beautiful color and glaze of the pieces, we advise against using a dishwasher. Handwashing will help maintain their integrity and longevity.

For certain items like jugs, mugs, and vases, you may notice some initial sweating at the base. Don't worry; this is normal and will gradually decrease over time. To protect delicate surfaces from watermarks, we suggest using a coaster or mat underneath.

If you plan to use a vase or jug for holding flowers, remember to change the water daily. This simple step will keep your arrangements looking fresh and your pieces in top condition.

Please be aware that some marks in the glaze and a slight craze pattern may naturally occur. These are part of the authentic charm of our products and won't compromise their functionality or durability in any way.

By following these care instructions, you'll ensure that your beloved pieces stay as beautiful as the day you got them.

Orders usually leave our warehouse within 1 business day. These are guarantee shipping times. We ship items out Monday - Saturday. No items are shipped out on Sundays. If we become aware of any delays or if there should be unexpected changes, we will notify you via email.

Floral traditional Portuguese pottery from Alentejo
Hand Painted

Alentejo Pottery

The village of Redondo, located in the heart of Central Alentejo, in the south of Portugal, is a municipality that for more than 700 years has been connected to clay and pottery, producing earthenware with excellent refractory properties.

Redondo pottery has a very characteristic tableware, known for its polychrome decoration, with simple, floral, geometric or abstract motifs in a unique combination that reinforced this village as a one of the main pottery centers in Alentejo.

Once, there were 40 potteries in Redondo, currently only 6 remain active preserving this ancient art.
