Olive serving dishes are a classic of Portuguese pottery. Beautiful and with an original shape, these are hand thrown by one of the oldest Portuguese potters, in Alentejo. With colorful floral designs painted by hand they have 2 compartments, make one ideal item for serving olives as tapas, passing them around the dinner table or perching them on a side table at a party. Use these plates to decorate your kitchen and table with some Portuguese flair and give it a rustic vintage farmhouse look.

For certain items like jugs, mugs, and vases, you may notice some initial sweating at the base. Don't worry; this is normal and will gradually decrease over time. To protect delicate surfaces from watermarks, we suggest using a coaster or mat underneath.

If you plan to use a vase or jug for holding flowers, remember to change the water daily. This simple step will keep your arrangements looking fresh and your pieces in top condition.

Alentejo Pottery

The village of Redondo, located in the heart of Central Alentejo, in the south of Portugal, is a municipality that for more than 700 years has been connected to clay and pottery, producing earthenware with excellent refractory properties.

Redondo pottery has a very characteristic tableware, known for its polychrome decoration, with simple, floral, geometric or abstract motifs in a unique combination that reinforced this village as a one of the main pottery centers in Alentejo.

Once, there were 40 potteries in Redondo, currently only 6 remain active preserving this ancient art.
