Product Description

Elevate your kitchen with our Kitchen Canisters, a set of two charming handmade and hand-painted pottery pieces. Each canister is a unique testament to Portuguese craftsmanship, adorned with vibrant floral motifs that evoke a vintage rustic charm.

Crafted from glazed terracotta and equipped with lids, these canisters guarantee the freshness and dryness of your stored contents. The larger canister is perfect for coffee beans, rice, grains, or flour, while the smaller one is ideal for sugar, tea, garlic cloves, or spices.

Produced by Olaria Pirraça, one of the oldest Portuguese potteries in Alentejo, these canisters carry a legacy that spans nearly a century.

The hand-painted floral design exudes a vibrant charm, adding a touch of vintage farmhouse style to your kitchen. The lively colors and exquisite patterns make these canisters a beautiful addition to any home.

Functionality meets artistry in these traditional Portuguese pottery clay canisters. Food safe, lead-free, and microwave-dishwasher safe (although handwashing is recommended), these canisters seamlessly blend practicality with aesthetics.

As each piece is crafted by hand, expect delightful variations that contribute to their uniqueness. Each canister is signed by the artist, making them prized decorative items.

These canisters efficiently store a substantial amount without taking up much space. Whether you have a spacious or compact kitchen, these jars effortlessly blend in while providing essential storage.

Beyond functionality, these canisters serve as stylish kitchen counter decorations. They also make for exceptional housewarming gifts, offering a touch of vintage charm and a piece of Portugal to your loved ones.

Part of our Traditional Alentejo Pottery Collection, these canisters can be paired with other items like salad bowls, serving platters, pitchers, spoon rests, and olive dishes. Embrace the timeless beauty of Portuguese craftsmanship with our Vintage Floral Ceramic Kitchen Canisters.

Before the first use, we recommend washing all pieces by hand in hot soapy water. Thoroughly rinse them and allow them to air dry for optimal cleanliness.

To preserve the beautiful color and glaze of the pieces, we advise against using a dishwasher. Handwashing will help maintain their integrity and longevity.

For certain items like jugs, mugs, and vases, you may notice some initial sweating at the base. Don't worry; this is normal and will gradually decrease over time. To protect delicate surfaces from watermarks, we suggest using a coaster or mat underneath.

If you plan to use a vase or jug for holding flowers, remember to change the water daily. This simple step will keep your arrangements looking fresh and your pieces in top condition.

Please be aware that some marks in the glaze and a slight craze pattern may naturally occur. These are part of the authentic charm of our products and won't compromise their functionality or durability in any way.

By following these care instructions, you'll ensure that your beloved pieces stay as beautiful as the day you got them.

Floral traditional Portuguese pottery from Alentejo
Hand Painted

Alentejo Pottery

The village of Redondo, located in the heart of Central Alentejo, in the south of Portugal, is a municipality that for more than 700 years has been connected to clay and pottery, producing earthenware with excellent refractory properties.

Redondo pottery has a very characteristic tableware, known for its polychrome decoration, with simple, floral, geometric or abstract motifs in a unique combination that reinforced this village as a one of the main pottery centers in Alentejo.

Once, there were 40 potteries in Redondo, currently only 6 remain active preserving this ancient art.
